One of my favorite things to do is photograph people that I really love. My husband and I are close friends with Jessi and Dom, the Nguyen family. Dom and my husband, Will, originally met when Will was living in Long Beach well before I ever met him. When we moved to Los Angeles we re-connected with Dom and he was at the time recently engaged to Jessi. The week we came out to Los Angeles to find a place to live and for Will to start his job training, we went out to dinner in Santa Monica and had tasty Polish food. I remember being really excited to get to know both of them and even more excited when I found out that Jessi shares many similarities to me. We both love antiquing, Anthropologie, and are into granny activities like crochet and knitting.
To celebrate Franklin turning 1 year old we went out to Huntington Beach Central Park and took these photos. I love that Jessi brought along some great props. The vintage 7-up crate that she brought was my favorite! Franklin looks so cute in it.
I asked Jessi a few questions about their son, Frankie and here are her responses:
Jenna: What is Franklin’s Favorite Food?
Jessi: Frankie loves roasted chicken and veggies.
Jenna: What is Franklin’s Favorite Toy?
Jessi: Right now Franklin’s favorite toys are his alphabet blocks.
Jenna: What do you guys like to do as a family?
Jessi: We love to go on walks with our dog, Toffee, and to take Franklin out to experience new types of food.
Jenna: How has Franklin changed your lives?
Jessi: Franklin has taught us how to exist on 3 hours of sleep at night lol! Our priorities have shifted to make sure he can be included. Our fun revolves around showing him new things and giving him new experiences.
Jenna: What is the best part about being a new parent?
Jessi: The best part is watching Franklin discover new abilities and seeing how quickly he changes. Every week he is a new person.
Will and I are incredibly lucky to have such good friends close by and we are so excited to see Frankie grow and change. I hope you love the photos as much as I do!
